“There is nothing more exhausting than enduring high and long-lasting level of chronic pain”

Combining natural treatments with your current treatment plan can increase the likeliness of reducing your pain symptoms. Pain often leaves our patients with a lot of stress and anxiety, and reflexology may be a way for them to take a deep breath and find mental relief as conventional treatments give them physical relief. It is believed that reflexology stimulates the nerves so pain signals are interrupted from travelling to other parts of the body. By putting pressure on reflex points, blood circulation can be increased and the body can take over the healing when stress is taken away. Reflexologists have found it helpful in patients with phantom limb pain and migraines, but it can benefit anyone suffering from pain.

How Can Reflexology for Pain Help?

Headaches and Migraines

Reflexology is primarily used by many people as a method of eliminating pain. As an analgesic treatment, reflexology can reduce the severity of a migraine and headache, simply by relieving tension in the muscles that can often result in these conditions. A headache induced by stress can also be eliminated since stress and psychological factors often manifest in the physical symptoms of a migraine. The open neural pathways can benefit our central nervous system in a variety of ways. It not only enhances the brain’s ability to handle inputs more effectively, thereby speeding up our cognitive powers, but also boosts memory.

The treatment causes the nerve flow to the area of the back causing the pain to improve. Over several sessions, and often in just a few weeks, this nerve flow becomes optimized. The same thing happens to the blood and the lymph flows to the problem area of the back. Reflexology is known to be of use for both chronic and acute back pain, neck pain, but it is also good for reducing stress, which can sometimes exacerbate people’s perception of pain.

Reflexology reduces stress and increases emotional well-being. This is related to back pain because it can cause stress which leads to an increase in the pain level experienced. By working on both fronts reflexology can greatly decrease the symptoms of chronic back ache. Reflexology for pain will help you:

Our Therapy Process

Your first step is to call us to schedule your initial appointment.

The practitioner will conduct a brief health history, checking in case reflexology may not be the best choice of therapy for you. The practitioner will explain how reflexology works and what to expect in the session. The reflexologist also informs you that reflexology does not treat specific illnesses and is not a substitute for medical treatment. You may be asked to sign a consent form.

Regardless of your health condition I will focus on the entire pattern of the reflexology therapy, starting at the toes and working down the foot. A complete reflexology therapy session uses many different techniques and includes all of the points on both feet. If there is a medical reason not to work with your feet, the Hand reflexology is as helpful as the Feet one.
